Yea you're right, very much doubt they will say anything either way until then. One wild card could be if it turns really ugly over there on Wednesday, or more likely against Sunderland, then they may just pull the trigger.

private, youre probably right, im just not sure what all this back him or sack him bollocks is all about. They backed him in the summer, im not sure how they are supposed to back him more now.

Can't think of anyone you'd not rather have, polite?

Yet you just throw the Premier Leagues best manager from last season out there do ya!?

Let's be realistic. The names in the running would be significant gambles, extremely underwhelming or just a backward step. We aren't super attractive like we all seem to think.

Private Dancer 2:18 Mon Mar 2

I'm quite sure they will know by now what they are going to do.

axeman, and thats why they will no doubt make their decision in the summer.

but his contract runs out in the summer

Re: Sack him or back him
I think they already made their decision in the summer. They decided to back him. What do you want them to do make a statement after every games as to whether theyre going to back him or sack him.

Mr Polite 1:55 Mon Mar 2
Re: Sack him or back him
I think we're in danger of comparing any suggested name with our current manager and when we do that it can make anyone look like a good option. If a straight choice between Sam I actually can't think of anyone i'd not rather have - even BubbleBrainBrian.

What you hope the owners do is judge each candidate on what they bring to the club and what the club needs.

For me Bilic probably wouldn't even be mentioned if it wasn't for his West Ham connection.

Whoever we choose we need to keep in mind that the high chances are that he won't be here in 5+ years time, either his decision or ours. With that in mind we need to choose someone with the ability to start building a structure that will last beyond him.

We need to choose a way we want to play, a way that will dicatate what players we go for, what way our Academy will play, a way for those Academy players to progress and a way that our next manager after this one will be recruited on being able to continue and take forward.

For me that also rules out Rafa and a number of other suggestions and why my number 1 target would be De Boer.

He has said that he would only move if it were to take over a 'project'. Something he can building from the base up.

Rodgers would be my ultimate number 1, however even with a massive wage rise and selling of the whole project thing I can't see him accepting. So failing that we need to look at someone able, willing and wanting to do a similar job.

We didn't invest heavily in January because we are up to our FFP budget limit. Same last season , enough left for 1 cheap player or loan.

Signing Song on loan left us with little movement in jan again and we could only bring players in if current players went out or deals could be structured to allow us to stay within the limit.

Nothing to do with lack of ambition all to do with FFP.

Yes Bill, I think that's been pointed out several times in the last couple of weeks.

Be honest, you had never heard of Alex Neil until I mentioned him yesterday, had you? He's the next Alex Ferguson by the way. Norwich have done well recruiting him.

Why anyone would want that fucking turncoat Bilic is beyond me. Ok, he plays guitar, has an earring and smokes but he fucked us off the moment Everton came sniffing around with a few sheckles in their pocket

Re: Sack him or back him
The PSV and Ajax managers would be good choices and could bring very good players with them, plus they are both world famous "academies" so could be good for the academy too

Re: Sack him or back him
I think the only two choices are sack him or sack him.

But we won't, our owners don't like sacking managers and are proud of their record, so at best they'll wait til summer and just not renew his contract.

I don't like Benitez and don't think his way of managing is that good.

Plus would much rather have a manager on his way up in his career than one on his way down. One that begins a dynasty and not one that will mean rebuilding the squad once he leaves.

I'd abosuletly break the bank and go all out for Rodgers. With the amount of money about to fall into Football I'd happily see us make him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Rodfarts 1:17 Mon Mar 2
Re: Sack him or back him
Benitez is the only manager I would expect us to move for over the safety that Allardyce offers.

I would be more than happy with him, anyone that wouldn't are fucking clueless.
